Thursday was off to the beach for an adventure. We took a cab to the ferry dock, bought a ticket to a little island 1hr ferry ride away. Isla Toboga. We rode right through a bunch of huge ships waiting to go through the canel. It is a very small Island with not much happening. We had breakfast at a little cafe, wandered up and down BOTH streets and headed for the beach. We splurged on a bumbrella and chairs and spent the day with the other 20 people that were enjoying the beach. Including two Canadians and two Americans. We're a little toasty, but mostly from hanging out in the water cooling off.

Here we are
We made it! A few adventures in the flying department, but we made it and we will talk about those later.
Wednesday we took a city tour booked through the travel agency across the street. It was very helpful and gave us a good idea of how the city is laid out. Our hotel is very clean and NO BED BUGS, (1st thing we check don't want grandpa to have to stay elsewhere when grandma brings his to our house) We saw the Miraflora Lock system, it is amazing to see how they move the big ships through the channel with just a small amount of space on either side. Then we drove to the causeway just to look, and then to Old Panama city. This was very interesting and I could have spent more time here. Maybe I will have a chance to spend more time during the conference.
We returned to the Miraflora Locks for dinner that was very good and we saw three more ships pass through while we were dining.
We are having fun, the weather is great!! No snow!!
